Eurosport player on the Mac

If you’re not a Sky subscriber sometimes it can be painful getting to see some cycle sport on TV.

March 2012: This article is now defunct. Eurosport Player works natively on the Mac if you install Microsoft Silverlight.

Eurosport have an online, chargeable, application called Eurosport Player, but it’s only supported on Windows. Not a lot of use if you’re a Mac user like me.

But, I’ve just discovered that if you have Flip4Mac installled, Quicktime on the Mac will happily stream Eurosport Player feeds. So subscribe to the player, use Firefox on the Mac to log into the site, set Flip4Mac to ‘Launch Quicktime Player’ in the system prefs, and you have Eurosport on your computer whenever you like.

Nice.

hey, i´d really love to have the eurosport player working, but the demo doesn´t do on eurosport.de (with flip4mac etc)

Did the demo work for you or does the player once subscribed?

    Thanks!

    Hi Christina,

No, the demo doesn’t display for me either – but the main video works fine once signed in (it will start up quicktime player, which in turn streams the live coverage).

I shall be watching this afternoon :)
